1. Purpose and Scope

VEEP Energy Ltd (formerly SaveMeMoney Wind & Solar Ltd) is committed to protecting the privacy, security, and rights of all individuals whose personal data we process. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (Ireland). It applies to all data processed in connection with our business activities, including clients and prospective clients, suppliers and subcontractors, employees and job applicants, and website visitors and online enquiries.

2. Our Commitment to Data Protection

VEEP Energy processes personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently. We ensure data is collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes; adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary; accurate and kept up to date; retained only for as long as necessary; and protected by appropriate technical and organisational measures.

We maintain a secure digital environment using Zoho EU datacentres, Microsoft 365, and WorkDrive Business, ensuring all systems meet EU data-residency and encryption standards.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Contractual necessity: to deliver products and services, manage projects, and meet obligations to clients and suppliers.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with tax, employment, health & safety, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SEAI or ESB Networks forms).
  • Legitimate interest: to manage our operations, safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and maintain quality control.
  • Consent: for marketing communications, case-study publication, or participation in mailing lists (consent can be withdrawn at any time).

4. Categories of Personal Data Processed

Depending on the relationship, we may process the following categories of data:

  • Client and supplier data: contact details, company registration, billing information, and correspondence.
  • Employee and applicant data: identification, qualifications, payroll, and HR records.
  • Website and communication data: IP address, browser type, or enquiry details submitted via our contact forms.

We do not collect or store special categories of data unless required by law or explicit consent is provided.

5. How We Use Personal Data

  • Deliver and support solar PV projects and related services.
  • Manage contracts, invoicing, and after-sales support.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance (e.g., Safe Electric, SEAI).
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and staff.
  • Improve our services, systems, and business efficiency.
  • Fulfil recruitment, payroll, and training obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.

6. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processors

Data may be shared with regulatory and grant bodies (e.g., SEAI, ESB Networks) for certification or compliance; approved service providers such as Zoho Corporation (EU), Microsoft Ireland, or accredited accountants; and professional advisers, insurers, or legal representatives where required. All third-party processors operate under written agreements ensuring GDPR-level safeguards and data-processing clauses.

7. Data Security and Retention

VEEP Energy employs encryption, password protection, and restricted access to ensure data integrity and confidentiality. Data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil its purpose and meet legal or contractual obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

  • Request correction of inaccuracies.
